Who We Are
At Young Achievers Skills Development Foundation (YAF), we believe in the power of skills, opportunity, and community. We are a non-profit, youth-led organization committed to empowering young people — especially the disadvantaged and marginalized — by equipping them with market-relevant vocational skills that open doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance.
Founded by Yamikani Chunga on the values of equity, innovation, and inclusion, YAF was established as a response to the growing need for practical, hands-on training opportunities that reflect the realities of both local industries and community life in Malawi.
We recognize that many young people possess untapped potential — and that given the right training and support, they can become builders of businesses, leaders of change, and architects of their own future.
To provide market-relevant vocational skills training programs that help our trainees become employed or start their own businesses.
Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty by bridging the skills gap in Malawi’s youth. We design training programs that not only respond to current labor market demands but also empower trainees with entrepreneurial thinking, life skills, and mentorship that lasts beyond graduation.
